As if birthday celebrations weren't enough to keep us busy this month, there's also Balloon Fiesta. It is definitely a family favorite and not one we like to miss. So, we woke the kids at 5 a.m. on Saturday and headed out to the park. Our goal was to take as few steps as possible so as not to overtax this baby-carrying momma. We succeeded! We parked not too far, rode the golf cart down to the field, waddled to the edge of the grass and nested. Mark and the girls shuttled the food. Then, we watched with awe and reverence as the balloons filled, launched and mingled all around. It's truly a spectacle to behold!
Our family is its own little spectacle to some. Mark got to listen to the constant banter of the boys as they watched the balloons with great enthusiasm. Chloe was more excited about the cinnamon roll and hot chocolate than the balloons I think. Catherine and Madelyn sat quietly taking it all in.
