Is it better for the environment to use plastic grocery bags and reuse them for trash can liners or is it better to use reusable canvas bags and buy plastic bags for trash can liners?
hmmm, such a quandry! What's your take? We reuse the plastic wal mart bags all the time. I have the canvas ones but NEVER remember to actually take them into the store!
Dunno..... We've been full-time cloth bag users since 2005. Our local grocery store doesn't even offer plastic at check-outs (but there are still a few in produce & meat depts). We do buy plastic bgs for our bathroom and kitchen...but they're made from 45%recycled plastic. We try to re-use the bathroom bag as much as possible and empty contents into kitchen bag on trash night.
Counter-question.....is it better to use cloth napkins or 7thgeneration (recycled content/no bleach) papertowels at dinner table?!?!?
