First grade farewell

Today is the first day of summer break for Madelyn. She told me last night she hopes not to feel like she's forgetting to go to school when she gets up today.

Her class had some fun last week. It started with a pizza party:
And continued with celebrating summer birthdays. Seven out of 20 kids in Maddy's class have summer birthdays.
And finished with some water balloon fun!We are very proud of our Madelyn. She continues to amaze us with her curiosity, persistence and patience. She developed some great leadership skills this year in addition to learning some Spanish and Mandarin.
